Houses
Brentwood Secondary College uses a House System to support our students to ensure that students/families are better known by our staff in our community and increase our school pride and identity.
What were known as Blue, Green, Red and Yellow in the transition year of 2019, student feedback was to keep the traditional house colours we had previously recognised at Brentwood for the last 50 years. After a process of asking our community for name suggestions, shortlisting and voting it has been decided that our new house names are Banksia (Green), Jacaranda (Blue), Waratah (Red) and Wattle (Yellow).
Students complete their core subjects in Houses, compete in House activities such as Sport, Music, Production and others and meet in House assemblies from Years 7-12. We aim to have siblings and family members in the same House to build a small community and identity of students, parents and staff within our school.
In our House System students in years 7-10 take part in our Pastoral Care program in their Mentor Group with the same teacher each week. This program, ASPIRE, supports our students to grow in a holistic capacity and ensure that we are supporting our students to become future ready citizens.
